Putting retinol in a cream rather than a serum is a deliberate slowing down: the emollient base buffers the contact, which is how Korean lines usually introduce a retinoid to skin that has never used one.
Who it's for. Mature, dull or rough-textured skin new to retinol. Retinoids are generally avoided during pregnancy and breastfeeding, so speak to your doctor first.
How to use. Evening only, after toner and serum, massaged over face and neck. Start two or three nights a week and build up gradually as your skin tolerates it. Sunscreen every morning is not optional while you are using retinol.
