A 210 ml cleansing oil built on ginseng, the root Korea has cultivated and traded for over a thousand years and still regards as its most valuable botanical. The oil itself is unusually thin, closer to water than to the heavy oils this category usually offers, so it rinses off without the film that puts people off oil cleansing. This is the first half of the Korean double cleanse, the step that removes what water cannot.
Who it's for. All skin types, and specifically anyone who wears sunscreen or long-wear base makeup daily.
How to use. On dry hands and a dry face, massage two or three pumps over the skin for 30 to 60 seconds. Add a little water and keep going until the oil turns milky, then rinse with lukewarm water and follow with a water-based cleanser. Evening only.
Key active. Ginseng oil, in a lightweight oil base with emulsifiers. The oil phase dissolves makeup, sunscreen and sebum, the emulsifiers let it wash away cleanly. Ginseng is used here as a conditioning ingredient; in a product that spends a minute on the face and then leaves, the removal is the point.
