A 30 ml eye cream combining panax ginseng root extract with retinal, the aldehyde form of vitamin A. Retinal is stronger and faster-acting than retinol, which is why the silky, slippy texture matters: it spreads without dragging on the thinnest skin on the face. Thirty millilitres is generous for an eye product, and Korean users often extend it down onto the cheekbone and the smile line rather than keeping it strictly around the eye.

Who it's for. Mature skin and anyone working on the appearance of fine lines around the eyes. Not for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding: if that applies to you, ask your doctor before using any retinoid, cosmetic ones included.

How to use. At night only. Start twice a week, then move to alternate nights and finally nightly if your skin stays comfortable. Tap a small amount along the orbital bone with your ring finger, staying off the lash line. Follow with moisturizer. Retinal increases sun sensitivity, so wear sunscreen every morning while you use it.

Retinal works on the appearance of fine lines and surface texture over months, not days, and the hyaluronic acid is there to offset the dryness retinoids can bring.
